RAWNY is pleased to offer new secure texting through Klara!

As more and more people use their phones for daily tasks, we know that it’s important to provide more mobile options for our patients. With that in mind, we’re rolling out our new press-to-text option called Klara, where patients will be connected with a RAWNY Patient Service Representative who will be standing by to help during our normal chat business hours of 7:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Klara also offers our patients other great features such as appointment reminders, text-to-pay, and patient satisfaction surveys.

Please note this text chat option should only be used for non-urgent questions. If you have an urgent matter or an emergent medical problem, we ask that you call the office and speak to a Patient Service Representative over the phone.

What is Klara?

Klara is a HIPAA-safe patient texting app that integrates directly with our electronic medical records system. With Klara, RAWNY can text you and keep your information safe. You can text us to make, cancel, or reschedule appointments, or ask questions about your care. You can also use Klara for questions about your bill, send copies of your insurance card(s) or other medical records. Please note that RAWNY responds to messages through Klara during normal business hours.

How do I send a text message to RAWNY?

Call us at 585-442-3411 and press # to be converted to text message, or text us directly at 585-572-8510. You will get a text message back from us with a link. Click on the link to start messaging us with Klara. We will make sure it is you by asking for your/patient’s birth date. The birth date and your cell phone number must match what is in your/patient’s medical record with us before you can begin your message.

When I text RAWNY, how do you know it is me and not someone else trying to get information about me?

The cell phone you use must match the cell phone number we have in your medical record to open the link. You will enter a verification code and your/patient’s birth date before you can text us or see our messages to you. If you text us about one of your children, the cell phone in your child’s medical record must match and you must use your child’s birth date before you can open the messages we send you.

What if I do NOT want to get text messages from RAWNY?

If you do not want text messages from RAWNY, reply “STOP.” You can also call us at 585-442-3411 to tell us you do not want to use text. If you decide later, you want to text us using Klara, just let us know.

Do I need an app to use Klara texting?

Klara is designed to function on a mobile browser eliminating the need to download an additional app. However, we do support the Klara app on mobile as well. Both iPhone or Android users can download the Klara app from the Apple App store or Google Playstore as another option to use and access Klara. Please note that you must be using iOS version 10.3+ for the app to be supported.
